NCAir Awareness Award 2013

The 2013 NCAir Awareness Appreciation Luncheon recognized Regina Guyer, the Exective Director of the Environmental Assistance Office (EAO), and Karyn Williamson-Coria, the Admin Support Specialist, for their outreach efforcts and campus/employee collaboration-building to raise awareness about what individuals and entities can do to combat Ozone Pollution in Charlotte. Williamson-Coria was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in recoginition of her efforts to execute the NCAir Awarness Race to the Beach Clean Communte Challenge during Ozone Season 2013.The 'racers' of the NCAir Awarness 'Clean Commute' summer program from all the 21 participating organizations combined were able to avoid 112 tons of total air pollution and 228,000 communting miles, and were able to save $43,000 in fuel. The award was presented by Kelly Smith, the Charlotte Area Air Awarness Coordinator for Mecklenburg County Air Quality.
