2011 BioEnergy Symposium

2011 bioenergy symposium

Charlotte, North Carolina

The UNC Charlotte IDEAS Center is pleased to have launched an annual BioEnergy Symposium.  Our inaugural meeting took place on February 7 & 8, 2011 and focused on Waste-To-Energy (WTE) technologies.

Waste-To-Energy was selected for the 2011 symposium to provide non-biased information on this technology for North Carolina and our Charlotte-Mecklenburg region.  We offered this meeting as a venue for community education and dialogue among stakeholders such as municipal decision-makers, regulators, citizen advocacy groups, and residents who may be considering the implications of Waste-To-Energy projects.

Our speakers included academics, engineers, and representatives from businesses, state agencies, and non-profits with expertise in bioenergy-related issues.

If you were not able to attend the symposium and would like more information on any of the topics discussed, we invite you to contact us.
